Free Digital Histories Screening |
It’s that time of the year again when our senior filmmakers from our Digital Histories Class have the opportunity to showcase their hard work at the Visual Communications Film Festival. This will be our fourth year exhibiting videos produced and edited by older adults and seniors at the DISKovery Center.
The Digital Histories project is a collaboration between Visual Communications and the DISKovery Center that provides the skills for our community to voice their own unmitigated stories through video production classes. This unique collaborative video training project will feature short videos, and will be held Tuesday, May 6th at 3pm at the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy, located in Little Tokyo at 111 N. Central Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90012. Parking is available in several lots on Alameda and First Streets.
This years lineup includes videos from Brenda Higa, Paul Kawakami, Henry Mar, Chicky Otani, Brian del Rosario, Michi Tanioka, Sumiko Urquhart and Jean Wong. A free reception will follow the screening, so please come support all the filmmakers by bringing your friends and family and experience the rich stories and histories from members of our community.
