This DISKovery Center has been a proud partner with the recent Community Connect Fairs that have been held throughout Los Angeles County in recent months. “Get Connected! Community Connect Fair” is part of a public awareness program launched by the California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF) that seeks to educate our communities about the economic and social benefits of broadband connectivity. The program aims to break down barriers and address misperceptions that perpetuate the Digital Divide that currently exists in California.
On March 20th, 2010 the DISKovery Center participated in the most recent Community Connect Fair that was held in Long Beach at Stevenson Elementary School where we promoted our programs while providing the event attendees wireless access and the opportunity to experience what it’s like to navigate the web.
The next Community Connect Fair will be on Saturday, April 24, 2010 from: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Pico-Union/Koreatown area at Berendo Middle School located on 1157 S. Berendo Street Los Angeles, CA 90005.

The DISKovery Center is pleased to announce that our very own technology instructor Ark Sano will be again donating his time and talent to help raise money for the DISKovery Center. He will be performing in concert at 6:30PM on Saturday, January 30th at the Saint Francis Xavier Chapel (Formerly Maryknoll) in Little Tokyo, located in Little Tokyo at 222 South Hewitt Street Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Our last concert drew over 100 people despite the heavy rain, so don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy and a rare and intimate community performance by Ark Sano, who is regarded as one of the top pianists in the current Jazz scene.
Please encourage your friends and family to come and join us for a night of jazz and drinks to ensure that the DISKovery Center continues to provide quality programming. Tickets are $25.00 for general admission and $50.00 for VIP admission (which includes exclusive seating, an autographed CD, and other items). Complementary desert and drinks will be provided with admission. Tickets are available now at DISKovery Center, which is located at 353 E. 1st Street in Little Tokyo, or call 213-473-3027 to purchase tickets over the phone. Tickets can also be purchased at the event.
